We have four modern asphalt plants – two in our Troon Quarry, one in Cambuslang and a new facility at Fife Silica Sand Quarry near Alloa.
Each is a state-of–the art, computer controlled batching plant using the latest technology to maximise efficiency. With capacity to produce in excess of 7000 tonnes per day, large daily volumes can easily be met.
That’s why we are a supplier of choice for major infrastructure works. One such example is the M8 M73 M74 improvement project – one of the biggest and most prestigious we have been involved in to-date – which saw more than 825,000 tonnes of asphalt laid in total. We delivered up to 50,000 tonnes each month to the project with deliveries coming from Troon and Cambuslang – all while maintaining our normal supply and first class service to other customers.
Our plants serve customers across a wide geographical area, spanning across the central belt from Argyle & Bute in the west to Edinburgh in the east, as far north as Dundee and as far south as Ayrshire.
Our plants have the capacity to produce 50 different asphalt mixes, all of which comply to EU standards, for a wide variety of projects including roads, footpaths and driveways. The mixes are categorised into three types – asphaltic concrete, hot rolled asphalt and stone mastic asphalt.
Hillhouse Group is a one-stop-shop for road surfacing materials, stocking a selection of additional products including pre-coated chips, limestone chips and bitumen tubs, meaning you can order everything required in one place.
Our experienced Technical Department can guide you in choosing the correct product for your application. We have the flexibility to deliver our asphalt products directly to you, or can offer a quick–turnaround uplift service from all of our plants.
Our plants are duel-fuel, running on gas, which is cleaner than other fuels such as waste oil. What’s more, we recycle old asphalt materials from roads that have been replaced or removed back into fresh asphalt.
