Hillhouse Group are delighted to announced our continued and enhanced support of Freedom Fighters, a Scottish based Charity offering addiction recovery support, counselling and retreats to those suffering from mental health impacts of dependancy.
The donation of £12,200 from Hillhouse Group will safeguard their vital work and support work on new initiatives, such as the Hub, due to open in the spring, bringing their services to more people in need.
In 2018 Freedom Fighters became a charity and secured funding to run a project called Character Under Construction, which focuses on the outcomes of Rescuing, Restoring and Releasing each individual through one to one support, group work, counselling, workshops, and men’s and women’s groups and retreats.
In 2020, noting decline in the mental health and wellbeing of those they worked with following the Covid-19 pandemic they launched a new initiative called Cultivate.
Identifying a need for trained therapists who were equipped to listen to and offer support to those in our local community to flourish and thrive in life after lockdown.
Offering hope to those affected by Covid, providing individuals the chance to work on and through their issues by the means of 1-1 counselling and support groups, with the goal of empowering individuals, families and anyone in need in our community to flourish in life after lockdown.
At the end of 2021 Freedom Fighters secured funding from the Scottish Government’s Local Support Fund to continue the Cultivate project and offer one to one trauma informed counselling and recovery support to those in need in our local community.
In 2023 they secured another 3 years funding from the Scottish Government’s Local Support Fund to continue their Cultivate project and offer one to one trauma informed counselling and addiction recovery support to those in need in the local community.
In February 2024, they acquired a new office space in Ardrossan, which they intend to turn into a trauma- recovery hub, a place of refuge and healing, where individuals can find professional therapeutic help and recovery support.
