Hillhouse Group is a family-owned business operating throughout Scotland. The company is a major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, readymix concrete, concrete products and road surfacing and civil engineering services to the construction industry and civil engineering sectors.


We are currently seeking to employ a Trainee Weighbridge Operator who will initially work from our Quarry near Troon.


Training will be provided, and the successful candidate will work under supervision until assessed as competent to work alone at which time they will be expected to travel to cover the weighbridges at other Group sites.


Main Duties and Responsibilities


Act as point of contact for customers.
Direct traffic coming onto site.
Accurately record weights and product type by vehicle, completing appropriate documentation and collecting driver signatures, etc.
Process delivery notes and tickets accurately and efficiently.
Report any anomalies/errors on the weighbridge system to the Sales Department.
Maintain relationships and deal with queries from customers and site visitors, face to face and electronically (by phone or email).
Ensure weighbridge customers are aware of site rules and distribute information and guidance accordingly.
Report health & safety issues immediately to management.
Comply with all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures.


Person Profile


Good literacy and numeracy skills.
Flexible in attitude and working hours.
Possess competent IT skills, e.g. Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
Confident telephone manner.
Organised and personable, with good relationship building skills.
Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must have a current driving licence as this role will require traveling to other Group sites.
